Sadly, I’m very disappointed with this purchase, especially since it was final sale. I expected higher quality given the price, and because Kate Spade pieces are usually so well-made and timeless. The design is beautiful and simple, but the construction really missed the mark. As shown in the photos, the top portion beneath the collar is crocheted and sheer, while the chest area is double-lined for privacy. However, the lining does not sit where it’s shown on the model. On me, the lined portion falls about a quarter to halfway down the bust, which creates a very awkward and unflattering line of demarcation. It looks misplaced and takes away from the elegance of the sweater. The proportions also feel off—the sleeves are extremely long, and it’s not the type of knit you can comfortably cuff. Between the odd lining placement and the sleeve length, the sweater just doesn’t fit or drape the way I expected. I own quite a few Kate Spade pieces and usually love the brand, but this one was a letdown. I took a chance on it hoping for a timeless, high-quality staple, and unfortunately it didn’t live up to that standard.
