Really thin plastic making it look and feel cheaply made. The tips come off the metal rods when folding it up, and although are easily put back on is not what I expect from a Kate spade product. I unfortunately bought four of them for gifts and am almost embarrassed to give them. First time I am fully disappointed in any purchase from KS
